Nominating Committee  On your membership form that you will be received this summer, please be sure to indicate in the section provided if you are interested in being an officer or committee chair for the next year.  This really helps the Nominating Committee in selecting members who are willing to serve in particular areas!

Bylaws Our Bylaws were updated and approved in March 2005.  The Bylaws are accessible on this web site for your reference.  A rough draft of TPDA’s new Policies and Procedures is available and we would like input from current and previous officers and committee chairs for suggestions and/or changes to the rough draft.

Newsletter The next newsletter will be out during the summer and will contain not only information about the organization but also the membership form/dues statement for the coming year.  Be sure to return the form with your dues by the deadline indicated!  Officers and committee chairs will be notified via e-mail when they need to send info for the newsletter.  You can access current and previous copies of the Newsletter on this web site.  If you have provided your e-mail address but are not receiving periodic updates from the district, please e-mail the chairman so she can be sure that your e-address is correct and on her distribution list.

Community Relations Join our Community Relations team!  This committee helps to coordinate TPDA member involvement in food-related community activities and also serves to outreach to the area dietetic internships to encourage the interns to be involved in our dietetic association.  Be on the lookout in future newsletters for upcoming events.    
    
Legislative and Public Policy Our chairman will update us throughout the year, via e-mails and items in the newsletter and website, about pertinent L&PP issues.  We are encouraging members to be active by attending Nutrition Day at the Capital in Austin.

Membership Please mail your completed 2007-08 dues notice/Membership Questionnaire to the chair by September 15.  The dues are delinquent after the first meeting on September 20.  The membership form for joining TPDA for the 2007-08 year can be accessed online by clicking on the link.  The TPDA Board suggests a donation to the TPDA Scholarship fund in lieu of a fundraiser.

Refreshments We will be asking for various members and/or facilities to volunteer to provide light refreshments for the upcoming meetings.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the September meeting.
